Cleanliness Tick Tick

Whilst the cottages were in a lovely location, in the pines and not far from the coast; the actually facilities were extremely basic. We paid for linen, which we thought would have constituted more than one (almost cardboard)towel each for three days in wet weather! Also we were provided with one tea towel, very basic cooking utensils. Not even a stove. Simple "luxuries" like sugar, tea and coffee would not have cost much to supply for the owners. Also we were required to pay extra for the fire wood (which was not only essential, but cut so big that it could hardly be carried). Some tinder was provided on the first night (with mention of not using the local surrounding forest wood), but none after that. Also no actual kindling (or even an axe was provided).

Management Response

Hi Gaye.Iam sorry you seemed to have a bad experience at Maroo Park.Just to clarify a few points.Firstly your linen was free and if you required anymore towels all you had to do was ask. There is a charge for firewood because I have to buy it in and therefore pass on the charge ..and you must have misheard me because I tell all my customers to use the kindling from around the pine trees and collect any fallen branches. There is no oven because at peak times I would be cleaning 9 ovens 3 times a week. You were supplied with an electric fry pan and a 4 ring cook top.Maroo Park is as advertised a self catering establishment therefore you have to provide everything that you require and look after yourself as you would for any rental property
